Vietnam Ride

                  Vietnam has strict regulation with regards to big cc motorbike. Unless you got special permit which is like asking mountain, you are not allowed to bring in your motorbike. So, the best bet is to rent bike from dealer in Vietnam. After all it is not the bike that matter but the adventure and ride through the country.

Summary, Vietnam is moving in fast pace and catching up. The economy is booming and slowing it is liberating itself from the gloomy of the war. This quick ride on some parts of what was known formally as South Vietnam tell me one thing, a revisit with longer duration is required. Stand by for a revisit soon.

Good Ol' Time

  Fellow friends from the Navy get together for a surprise 6 series (60 years old) meet up in Sitiawan Perak, Malaysia today. No agenda, no politics, no religion, no races, no MH 370 speculation, no no no. It just about our good old time together during the yester years serving in the Navy. No matter what we are the Navy People before, present and future! For me, these are my fellow brothers who would even dare  risk their lives for our country and its people. May Allah bless you all always.

Last Leg

2- 19 Sep 2013 - Last Leg

After Valdez, its return ride to Nelson, Canada. The route covers Valdez -Tok - Destruction Bay - Whitehorse - Watson Lake - Dease Lake - New Hazelton - Prince George - Jasper - Louise Lake - Banff - Golden - Revelstoke - Nelson.
 The weather getting cold and leaves started to turn yellowish. It was a lonely ride and not much bikers except for the area surrounding the Jasper and Banff National Park.
 As I finally make a turn towards Nelson, it was bright sunshine day and a superb welcome home to Tom's residence. Few days in Nelson sorting out flight tickets and last minute 'shopping' and enjoying the nice view of Lake Kootenay.
 On 19 Sep 2013 I took a flight back to London. Connecting London to Kuala Lumpur few days later. That concludes my Canada and Alaska trip 2013.

Valdez, Alaska

 The road to Valdez from Anchorage using the Glenn and Richardson highway I made was a correct decision. This super view along both highways never to regret any rider. Glenn highway, however, has slightly more traffic than Richardson because Glenn leads you to Tok and out of Alaska while Richardson brings you to dead end town called Valdez.
 I purposely want to see Valdez. In 1989, the tanker Exxon Valdez ran aground in Prince William Sound and spill 11 million gallon of crude oil and a devastating environment disaster in the history of tanker. A new International Maritime Organisation Convention ensued. New rules and regulation concerning tanker construction, safe operation and training needs.  
 I am blessed to have a deep study on this incident during my studies. Alhamdulilah. I got to see Valdez now. A new chapter of scene, though the reminder of the accident lingers to all seafarers.

A great feeling as I entered Valdez town limits. A small fishing and oil refinery town welcome you. Population mostly filled with workers on shift and waiting to get out of Valdez. Welcome to Valdez.
